Accessibility Guide for Rock Lobster
Introduction
Our self-catering property is semi-detached, brick built with 2 floors.
Pre-Arrival
- We have a website entry on www.lets-unwind.com
- Bookings / enquiries can be made via email, on-line or phone
- The nearest train station Rye is 3 miles away; there are accessible taxis at the station.
- We can provide information in large print.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
- There is parking outside on the road and on the drive.
- Parking is leveled tarmac and flat and even.
- The entrance at the front has 0 steps.
- The front door opening is 86cm wide.
- The outside light beside the entrance door is switched on from the inside; the light switch is on the right as you enter the house.
- Parking is 1 metre away from the entrance door.
- The entrance door is clearly visible from the parking area.
Kitchen
- Archway from entrance hall, width of archway is 92 cm.
- Flooring is Karndean vinyl.
- Worktop height 91 cm.
- Oven door is drop down, height of lowest shelf 36 cm, can be accessed from the side.
- Sink is 91 cm high with cupboards underneath.
- Hob is 91 cm high and electric ceramic.
- Floor area is 143 cm x 138 cm.
- Good contrast between floor, cupboards and other surfaces.
- Fridge with freezer available, highest shelf in fridge 170 cm, lowest shelf is 124 cm.
- Front loading dish washer 60cms wide.
- Microwave on work surface
Laundry
- There is no separate laundry but there is a standard size washer dryer, which is front loading, provided in the kitchen.
Lounge
- Door width 78 cm.
- Furniture is moveable.
- There is a TV with remote control and Firestick and an i-pod connector.
- Dining table is 90cm in diameter and 76 cm high. There are 4 chairs.
- Free space between table and walls is at least 83 cm all round.
- Flooring is Karndean vinyl.
Bedroom ( on the 1st floor)
- Door width 72 cm
- Double bed provided (5 ft) or 2 single beds (2 ft 6 ins each).
- Bed height 66 cm floor to top of mattress.
- Non feather duvets and pillows provided.
- Sheets, duvet covers and pillowcases are cotton oe polyester cotton.
- Bed is movable if more space is required to one side (max = 102 cm).
- Largest free space clear of doors and furniture is 140 cm by 170cm
- Flooring is Karndean vinyl.
Bathroom & WC
- Door width 72 cm
- Bath with flexible shower and fixed shower over. Top edge of bath is 56 cm from floor.
- Free space in bathroom (free of doors and furniture) is 88 cm by 120 cm.
- Toilet seat height 43 cm
- Flooring Karndean vinyl.
- Good colour contrast between floor, walls and furniture.
- Space under washbasin is free (no pipes or vanity unit) has pedestal.

- Access to garden through back door, step down over door frame of 9 cm onto deck.
