Dogs are welcome to stay at our dog friendly cottages at Camber Sands, in fact we positively encourage guests with dogs! Why would you want to come on a family holiday to the beach and not bring the whole family (even those with four legs). We welcome every member of your family at both The Salty Dog and Rock Lobster at Camber Sands and especially your dog. We know exactly what makes a self catering holiday with your dogs relaxing and fun, having been dog owners for many years. Sadly Chloe the star of our website has now passed away. We, however, continue to enjoy the delights of Camber Sands with our young working cocker spaniel Molly.
Walkies from our dog friendly holiday cottages...
Dogs love the beach at Camber Sands, in fact we (and Molly) think it’s the best beach in the world, but then we are probably biased. Discover the miles of open sandy beach and dunes at Camber Sands that await exploring by you and your dog.
Dogs are allowed on the beach all year round. Between 1st May and 30th September certain restrictions apply but the beach is so vast that there is still ample space to enjoy the freedom of being off the lead, in the sea, on the beach and in the dunes. Of course, there’s no need to limit your walks to the beach, there are plenty of other lovely off-lead walks in the area both coastal and countryside. Dog friendly eateries....
The Owl, Camber Landing and The Rye Bay Cafe are all within a short walk of our holiday cottages and all serve excellent food/ snacks and welcome dogs. In addition there are also many places in Rye and the surrounding area which are dog friendly too. Why not take a look at our Eating and Drinking page for more suggestion of eateries that welcome dogs. You can easily walk the 3 miles to Rye along paths, with your dog off the lead for the most part, to work up an appetite.

- 5 minutes walk from beach, less when being towed behind an eager dog!
- The Owl, our friendly local pub, serves excellent food, local ales and welcomes dogs.
- Information on local walks (including maps), dog friendly pubs, dog friendly attractions.
We ask that you bring your dogs own:
- Bed and bedding
- Towels
- Food
- Toys
Naturally you appreciate that having a pet requires a little extra housework, so we ask for an additional payment of £20 per booking if you wish to bring your dog(s).
