We own two highly praised holiday cottages at Camber Sands, both just a short walk from the beautiful beach and also three miles from historic Rye – easily one of the most charming small towns in Sussex with its cobbled streets and ancient buildings. Our self-catering holiday homes are furnished, equipped and maintained to a very high standard and we have many guest who return time and time again.

Camber Sands...
Camber Sands beach is part of a 7 mile stretch of golden sands enclosed by picturesque dunes. The sand is perfect for sandcastles and the lagoons left by the receding tide are often warmed by the sun making then the perfect place for children to splash around. Hence Camber Sands is the ideal place for a family holiday or short break by the sea.
The beach is great fun for the four legged members of the family too. Dogs are welcome on the beach all year round and have unrestricted access from October until the beginning of May.
The area has plenty to offer watersports enthusiasts of all abilities both on the sea and in the freshwater lakes. Camber Sands offers the ideal conditions for kite surfing and so has become a leading centre for this sport with an extensive dedicated zone for kiters. Our cottages are both just minutes from the surf with plenty of space for storage of gear. For those that prefer something maybe a little less adrenaline-filled there is land boarding, sailing, wake boarding, water skiing and jet skiing.
The medieval town of Rye with its cobbled streets, quaint shops and tea rooms is just 3 miles away. This pretty little hilltop town, once the haunt of smugglers, is steeped in history. That’s why we encourage all our guests to spend some time exploring its narrow streets and twittens.
Camber Sands is situated on the edge of the Romney Marshes whose quiet lanes, narrow waterways and network of footpaths are ideal for long county walks, bike rides, painting, photography and bird watching.
Where we are...
Our Camber Sands cottages are located 4 miles (6 km) from Rye Railway Station and then a short bus ride takes you all the way to Camber. We are about 33 miles (53 km) from the Eurotunnel, a 50 minute drive and about 40 miles (65 km) from the Port of Dover, a 55 minute drive. The journey from London via the M20 is also very straightforward taking about 1½ hours.

The Salty Dog and Rock Lobster are more than just “family friendly”, we have gone that extra mile to ensure that our holiday cottages at Camber Sands are as safe and welcoming to babies and children as they are comfortable and relaxing for their parents. We have furnished and equipped our houses with our youngest guests in mind and have maintained them to the highest standard since we started in 2007. We have paid great attention to detail to ensure babies and toddlers can have both a fun filled and safe holiday allowing you as parents to enjoy a relaxing and stress free break.

About Us...
Let’s Unwind is run by me, Carol, with help from my husband Pete. We own two holiday cottages at Camber Sands, which we thoroughly enjoy staying in ourselves. As seasoned (and critical) veterans of many a self-catering holiday we have a fair idea of what makes a self-catering holiday that bit more special, relaxing and stress-free. We have been fully managing our cottages now for almost 20 years via this website. We have recently taken the decision take more time for ourselves and spend more time enjoying our lovely holiday homes with our family. We still share our homes with holiday makers via AirBnB.
Families with babies and small children will find pretty much everything taken care of – all that bulky baby kit can stay at home so there’ll be more room in the car for the things you really want to bring!
We have furnished, equipped and presented both The Salty Dog and Rock Lobster to a very high standard with hotel quality bed linen and towels. We also provide Sea Kelp toiletries made with quality, naturally derived ingredients.
Whether you holiday with or without little ones you will be pleased to find that we really have tried to think of everything! We also welcome dogs at both our cottages – after all they are part of the family!
